What should I expect during the ultrasound? How is it done?
Ultrasound is a simple and painless procedure. A gel is applied to your skin, and the doctor moves a small probe over the area being examined. You may be asked to change position or hold your breath briefly. Most scans take 5–20 minutes, and you can continue your normal activities afterward.
Some tests may have their own specific process. Our staff will explain everything beforehand so you know exactly what to expect.
Do I need to bring my own water?
No, we provide it at the center.
Is ultrasound painful or harmful?
No. It’s completely safe and non-invasive — it uses sound waves, not radiation.
Do you have a female doctor?
No, but a lady attendant is always present for female patients.
What are your working hours?
Every day, 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
What's the wait time for appointments?
Usually 2–5 days, depending on demand.

Is ultrasound safe for pregnancy?
Yes. Ultrasound is completely safe during pregnancy. It uses sound waves, not radiation, and is routinely performed for foetal assessment.
Can I bring someone with me during the scan?
Yes, you may bring one attendant. However, they may need to wait outside in patient waiting area. For adult patients, attendants are not allowed in the scan room. Parents or guardians are permitted for minor patients.
Do I need to stop any medicines before the scan?
No. Do not stop your regular medicines unless your referring doctor specifically advises it. If you’re unsure, please ask us at the reception.
Can the ultrasound detect all problems?
No test can detect everything. Ultrasound is very useful, but some findings may require additional scans or follow-up tests depending on the clinical situation.
Do you do X-ray, CT, MRI or any Blood tests?
No. We only perform Ultrasonography (USG) scans.
Can I eat or drink after the scan?

What should I expect after the ultrasound is done?
After your scan, you will receive a report collection slip. Please keep it safely and bring it with you when you come to collect your report.
When will I get my money receipt?
Your money receipt will be given with your ultrasound report at the time of report collection.
What should I expect during a TVS (Transvaginal sonography)?
A TVS is a safe and routine internal pelvic ultrasound used to get a clearer view of the uterus and ovaries. A thin, covered probe is gently inserted into the vagina. It is usually not painful, though you may feel mild pressure. A female attendant is always present with the sonographer throughout the procedure for comfort and privacy. After the scan is done, you can return to your normal activities immediately.
Can I do an ultrasound if I am on my period?
Yes, you can. Being on your period does not affect most abdominal or pelvic ultrasounds. The scan can be done normally, and bleeding does not interfere with the results. Only certain pelvic or internal scans may require rescheduling depending on the type of test. Please confirm with your referring physician or gynaecologist if you are unsure.
Can a TVS/Transvaginal sonography (internal usg) be done during my period?
Yes, a TVS can still be done during your period, and it is medically safe. However, many patients prefer to avoid it due to personal comfort. Please check with your doctor or gynaecologist for the most suitable timing.
How should I dress for an ultrasonography (USG) test?
Wear light, comfortable clothing for your ultrasound. Avoid tight outfits or heavy layers. If the area being scanned is under your clothes, you may be asked to slightly adjust or lift your clothing. No special dressing is required unless your doctor has given specific instructions.
Will the doctor explain the report after the scan?
The sonographer focuses on performing the scan. The findings are reviewed, documented, and provided in your written report. Please consult your referring doctor for detailed clinical interpretation.
Can I get the ultrasound without a prescription?
A doctor’s prescription is mandatory for all pregnancy-related ultrasound scans as per regulations. Non-pregnancy abdominal scans can be done without a prescription — self-referral is allowed.
What is a Doppler ultrasound?
A Doppler ultrasound is a special type of scan that shows how blood is flowing through your vessels. It helps assess blood flow in arteries and veins, check for blockages, narrowing, or abnormal circulation. It is non-invasive, safe, and done using the same ultrasound machine with an additional Doppler feature.
Is my husband allowed during my pregnancy ultrasound?
Yes, your husband may accompany you to the clinic. However, he will usually need to wait in the waiting area during the scan. If his presence is required at any point, our staff will call him in.
